The Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) strives to give our employees the chance to build a satisfying and rewarding career, and in addition to a competitive salary structure we provide a range of other benefits that make us one of the most flexible and forward-thinking employers in the Territory.
Salaries are set by the classification of the position that applies to each vacancy. NTPS employees are paid fortnightly, with the pay period running from Thursday to Wednesday. In addition to their salary, some employees may be eligible for other allowances and concessions. Salary packaging is also available with a range of options such as leasing a car or making extra superannuation contributions.
Leave provisions include generous annual recreation leave, three weeks of sick leave each year, paid long service leave after ten years of continuous service, maternity and parental leave, and a range of other entitlements. We also believe in the value of flexible work practices that deliver innovative ways of balancing work and personal commitments. You may be able to take advantage of options such as flexible working hours, home-based work, job-sharing, part-time employment, career break schemes, part-year work, or short-term absences for family and community responsibilities.
The NTPS recognises the importance of ongoing training and development and a number of initiatives including study leave, professional placements and secondments may be considered as viable professional development options.
