The Northern Territory is planning for its future through the development of Territory's Major Remote Towns and a new city.
The Northern Territory’s largest remote communities are being developed into strong towns with services and amenities like those found in similar-sized towns elsewhere in Australia. The towns will become economic and service delivery centres for their regions, with schools, police stations, courts, health services, aged care and disability facilities.
The new city of Weddell, south of Darwin, is currently in the planning stages to become a world-class green city.
These developments will need infrastructure, including water, utilities, roads, internet and community facilities. This translates into even more jobs and business opportunities.
